The Deal with 1:1 Designer Consults

Some of you may have seen me on Instagram in fancy headphones talking about our designer consults. First, the headphones are these and they offer better sound/make me feel important, and second, here's what a designer recently said about our consults:

The Best + Worst Vendors

The Best + Worst Vendors

The Deal With Auctions

The Deal With Auctions

The big Spring Auctions are coming up in NY and at our recent team meeting, said team had some questions.  And I had answers that we were all surprised to learn, and I hadn’t previously shared. I spent a few years at Christie’s, went to Sotheby’s institute (which provides a useful window into auction house life) and dealt with the major houses through other jobs, so the way these auctions work is ingrained in me. Here’s how they relate to you, budding and curious art fan:

A Lot of Current Projects are Looking Very Good

A Lot of Current Projects are Looking Very Good

Our current projects go through many phases from initial site visits to final installs, and it's rare that we're doing a lot of installs all at once. What Makes Art Good?

Art ranges in price from $0 to hundreds of millions of dollars, and a common misconception is that it's totally subjective.  YES, it is, but so is food, fashion, music, and many other things in life and there's still a general consensus on what's good quality and what's not. Art is no different, except that in general, people are less confident assessing it because they're not nearly as exposed to art as they are to food, fashion and music.

The New York gallery scene is one of the best in the world, but it's also SUPER intimidating; there are so many options that aren't always apparent or welcoming, and figuring out a route that's family friendly (i.e. near some snacks) is so tricky.  I'm into art and efficiency, and as a mama I'm always all about family-friendly anything. SO, I wanted to share some ways to approach the New York gallery scene and have your kids enjoy the ride with you.

Our OCD and How It Makes Your Life Better
